Hypnotherapy To Stop Smoking

-

In this article I am going to share with you some of the specific ways Hypnotherapy Hertfordshire can help you to stop smoking, for good. With the smoking ban fast approaching in the UK (July 1st 2007), many people are beginning to feel the social pressures to stop smoking. The benefits of stopping smoking are immeasurable. Without question you will be much healthier and perhaps more importantly free from the control you should have felt by being at the mercy of a horrible, smelly and expensive habit. Hypnotherapy Hertfordshire is a hypnotherapy practice based in Aldbury, near Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. At Hypnotherapy Hertfordshire, you are supported to give up smoking with ease and also quickly. What this means is there won’t be months of relying on expensive nicotine patches and other replacement therapies, which in my opinion, just keep the physical addiction going, longer then necessary.

When you make the decision to seek support from Hypnotherapy Hertfordshire to help you stop smoking, we take steps to ensure that you are given the best possible chance of quitting. One of the ways in which Hypnotherapy, Hertfordshire, does this is by assessing your motivation to stop. From experience, it is clear to us that you must want to stop smoking now and you must also want to do this for yourself. The therapist will help you identify whether this is the case. Clients who are not considered motivated enough will be advised to come back, when the time is right. That way you are not wasting money and we are not wasting out time!

At Hypnotherapy Hertfordshire, we use various different hypnotherapy techniques to assist our clients so that they are able to stop smoking. The techniques used depend on the unique needs of the client. Some of the techniques include:

Identifying and consolidating your reasons to stop smoking- At Hypnotherapy Hertfordshire, we have many facts and information about the negative effects of smoking on the mind and body. The hypnotherapist spends time with you, supporting you in applying this information to yourself and your life. The result is that perhaps for the first time, you can appreciate that harm from smoking, is not something that happens to other people. At this stage in the session you will begin to will feel the strong desire to move away from smoking forever.

Identifying the benefits and positive rewards of stopping smoking – its not all doom and gloom! It is also very important to begin focusing on what you will gain by stopping smoking and how your life will improve massively for the better. The therapist will also spend time with you, discussing and exploring the positive impact quitting smoking and remaining a non-smoker will have on your life. You will also be guided to set goals for the future. These will focus on things you wouldn’t have been able to do as a non-smoker. You will be amazed at the new options you have for relaxing, becoming more healthy, going to new places and of course spending all that extra money you will save by stopping smoking.

Hypnosis with positive suggestion. Of course, part of your stopping smoking treatment at Hypnotherapy Herts will involve you getting to sit back and relax whilst your unconscious mind does the learning! During this process you will be guided to a deep state of relaxation, whilst the therapist also directs your unconscious mind with suggestions and metaphors to stop smoking. You will also be supported to develop positive coping strategies. Acknowledge that your smoking habit has served a purpose in the past, in that it has likely been a method for coping. Hypnotherapy and NLP techniques (neuro linguistic programming) will enable you to develop positive coping strategies that serve you in the present and future. One of the new positive coping strategies could be learning to use an anchor. If the therapist feels that you would benefit from having an anchor created, this will also be part of the stop smoking treatment session at Hypnotherapy, Hertfordshire. An anchor, is basically a positive resource of emotions that you can fire off, when you need extra emotional strength to cope.

There are also several formal change techniques, which are effective for helping you to stop smoking. The most appropriate technique will depend on your unique problem. At Hypnotherapy, Hertfordshire, these techniques are used if required. Examples include: The Swish Technique which can be used if you wish to replace a highly contextualised problem behaviour with a more positive behaviour. It works to eliminate behaviours that occur in specific situations after specific triggers. 2) Parts Integration is very useful at uncovering the positive intention of your smoking habit and dealing with incongruent behaviour and feelings. 3) Like To Dislike – This technique is based on information about how we code memories in our brain. We tend to code things we like in a different way to things we don’t like. So, its possible to recode your memory of smoking into something that you find disgusting.

Hypnotherapy Hertfordshire provides a free consultation to those who make the decision to use Hypnotherapy Hertfordshire to stop smoking. In addition, free support for the next six months is provided. This means that at any time within six months you should you start smoking again, we will work for free to get you to quit smoking again. Hypnotherapy, Hertfordshire works on the basis that it is possible to have you stop smoking in one session. This is because we deal with all that aspects of your habit in this session, so that you leave a non-smoker and are done with that old habit.

Can Steve Really Quit Smoking?

-

Say hello to “Steve.”

Steve is a fictional character who has been smoking for more than 5 years…Steve would love to quit smoking, but he just never seems to get around to it…

A few months ago, Steve was talking a big game about how he wanted to finally quit smoking cigarettes. About how quitting smoking would be better for his health in the long run. About how much money he’d save if he were to finally give up the habit. And Steve WAS successful at quitting smoking. At least for a little while…HORRAY!

But now, the weekend is here & Steve’s ready to party.

Steve had a rough week at the office & he needs to take the edge off. Steve buys a 6 pack of his favorite beer at the local grocery store & he heads over to his friend Brian’s house (Brian is also a fictional character)…

The music is playing, the beer is flowing & then Brian offers him a smoke. Steve just can’t resist…

After all, the smell of the cigarettes can be so tempting to people trying to quit….& Steve he has so many fond memories that are deeply associated with smoking. In Steve’s mind, smoking reminds him of all those good times…

Steve just feels he HAS to have a cigarette- all those good times are reloaded in Steve’s brain. “Sure, man…why not?”

And now, Steve’s smoking again…However, now he’s now got all sorts of mixed feelings and emotions…

1. First of all, his body might be used to the familiar chemical effects that cigarettes are now being rekindled deep in his bloodstream. Steve’s body isn’t sure whether he likes this feeling or not.

2. Second, Steve might be experiencing some conflicting emotions internally. While the cigarettes have brought bring back the old feelings of celebration & the “You only live once” attitude, he’s also keenly aware that he was trying to quit smoking & now he’s seemingly not going to follow through with his decision…he feels like he’s broken a promise that he made to himself!…but, at the end of the day, his decision to quit was for his own good, right?

3. And finally, Steve starts extrapolating his experience today to other areas of his life…He’s thinking “If I can’t make a decision & stick to it..what else won’t I be able to complete? Is this the type of person I am? No, wait. I’ve completed other things in the past…it’s just a cigarette…whew..” Steve thinks to himself. But really, what’s he thinking is: “this is just silly.”

Wow! Who’d ever think that so many emotions could be wrapped up in one little tiny pack of flimsy cigarettes?!

Ask any current or ex-smoker you know whether they’ve experienced anything like this in the past…However, you better take a seat. They may tell you all about these feelings & many more.

If you smoke (or recently quit), can you relate to this story or a similar one? Does Steve’s story sound a little like deja vu all over again…?

For all the smokers reading this, Steve’s story may sound all TOO familiar….However, there is good news…

The fact of the matter is that there are aids to stop smoking that are being sold in the market place. And people have invested money in stopping smoking products…And some of these products come with a 100% money back guarantee.

So, which stop smoking aid should Steve invest in?

The answer may surprise you! Click one of the links below to find out the answer right now:

Do you think this can be true? Our body and psychology can be related?

-

I heard this kind of thing twice or thrice at diffferent places. On tv I once saw a woman giving tips to an overweight guy how to transform his thoughts that he is overweight

Hey, do you want to lose weight easily by doing nothing or get motivated to lose weight easily without even giving up half-way?

The key and answer to successfully do it is in Your Subconscious Mind.

The subconscious actually stores a multitude of memory patterns which will feed information to the conscious mind when activated. Data is never erased unless the subconscious mind gives that command.
For example, when you walk or drive to your destination, you do it automatically without being aware of it – that is your subconscious mind doing the whole process without your conscious mind.
The subconscious brain is very good at its job and works 24 hours a day on keeping us alive.

The subconscious controls and regulates involuntary functions of the body such as breathing, circulation, Metabolism, Digestion, hormone balance, etc.

So you may wonder.. how do you tweak or make your subconscious mind to lose weight easily? The answer is… Hypnosis!

Hypnosis is done by bypassing your conscious mind to your subconscious mind giving instructions and storing them successfully.
That is why people can quit smoking, feel extremely motivated, attain success easily, study easily and so on Successfully just after 1 session of hypnosis! Even faith-healing uses Hypnosis!

My friend tried hypnosis to lose weight. Initially, her weight was 198lbs and she lost 18.3lbs within 3-weeks! All by natural metabolism! And she never even change her diet but ate as normal!

The best thing about losing weight via metabolism is… it burns fat everywhere in your body equally! This makes your body look perfect in shape!

You will thank me because I can guarantee you Hypnosis Works! You can just let your natural metabolism be high and Lose Fat Doing NOTHING effectively and immediately or be motivated to stop binge eating and exercise regularly without pain or laziness

(copy pasted)

Yes, it is infact true but I’m not very sure if it can be effective to everyone. I think there will be about 30 out of 100 people (just a rough guess, maybe more or maybe less) for whom there won’t be any effect, I’m one of them!

When I was in school, my mom sent me to this course (link below) which was related to hypnosis kind of a meditation but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. Maybe because I was still too young to concentrate at that level or maybe some other reason. But I still think that such things can’t change/improve/affect me!

My boyfriend started smoking cigars. Should I tolerate it?

-

Hello. So we got back together last week, after we broke up 7 months ago. He called me and wanted to get back together with me, so i thought about it and decided to give it another try. Part of the reason we broke up was because I didn’t set my boundaries and didn’t tell him what i could and could not tolerate in fear that he wouldn’t like what I had to say. Because of that, he didn’t know when he crossed the line and thought I was overreacting when I confronted him about things later on in the relationship, when he thought it was fine with me all along. Also, another reason why we broke up was because I worried too much. He always thought I was making a big deal out of every little thing, and for some things, i guess I was.

Anyway, he just started smoking cigars, and I am really against this. it may not be a big deal to you guys, but in all honesty, I find smoking anything to be disgusting and a huge turn off. Also, it’s really heartbreaking because I know it’s not good for his health. My father promised me that he would quit smoking when I was little, and he just recently started smoking again in secrecy (just that you can smell it everywhere) He’s my father, I care about his health and it really is heartbreaking and I dont want to experience that with my boyfriend. i dont think it’s something i’ll be able to overlook, and I know I’ll have problems with it later on if i dont confront him now.

So I really don’t know what to do… am i making a big deal about this?

O yeah, before some of you go on about the health benefits of nicotine, if you’re smoking for health benefits, wouldn’t a nicotine patch or w/e be a wiser choice? Bad teeth, higher risk for diseases, and smelling horrible, etc is not worth it in my opinion.

So tell me your opinions. By all means disagree if it’s what you think. I’m not looking for sugar coated answers, just some honest ones. Thanks! after you quit smoking benefits

Get off of his case. Let the man be a man. Stop trying to control him. This is how it always begins. Next you will be telling him he can’t drink beer, see other women, eat meat, etc.

How long after quitting the smoke can you expect to breathe normal again…?

-

I suppose I can’t ever expect to really breathe like I should, I was doing 2 packs a day for over 5 years, but I quit 5 days ago, and practically the only withdrawal symptom after the first ‘horrible’ day without my cigarettes has been coughing and being constantly out of breath. In fact, I distinctly remember feeling great while I was still smoking, the last two days as a smoker I was breathing better than now….. I barely have cravings, and I definitely do not intend to relapse, so why the coughing and wheezing and shortness of breath after 5 days already????? How long till I breathe OK?

I quit smoking 5 years ago. When I quit, I was smoking anywhere from 1 1/2 – 2 packs a day. In the first year after I quit, I was coughing alot. Had a hard breathing. I went through what seemed like every possible side effect I could have. I had tried to quit several times before so I knew I had to quit cold turkey.Hopefully this doesnt discourage you. But still today I have a gross "smokers cough" and some weezing. It sucks but despite some of the claims out there. If you smoke for 5 years, it really doesnt make sense to think that you will heal in a year. I still deal with the consequences. But there is no amount of stress, or the best social gathering, or greatest drink in the world that could make me light up again. Though its been one of the hardest things Ive ever had to do in my life, I would rather spend the next 5 years continuing to get better than to set my health back again.

Good luck
